TGIF

My older brother (the hopelessgamer) started a subreddit recently. Its called TGIFclub (http://www.reddit.com/r/TGIFClub/). The idea behind his subreddit is to recreate the old days of TGIF on ABC. TGIF was a weekly event for my family. My parents would order pizza, each sibling would invite over a friend, we set out our beloved bear blanket to sit on, and all be amused in the entertainment that was TGIF on ABC. I'm really excited about this idea. TGIF was a big deal for my family and I looked forward to if every week. The Hopeless Gamer's idea is to recreate TGIF through Netflix instant watch. He asked for suggestions for half-hour comedy based shows, out of heavy syndication, and the series needed to be over. The group will choose four shows and watch one every Friday night. Then, the group will discuss the episodes. I plan in partaking along with my boyfriend, and we couldn't be more excited. I highly recommend that others join as well! This sounds like a lot of fun and I can't wait for it to start.

Inspector Space Time

A long time ago I posted part of an interview with Karen Gillian. In the interview, she said she would love to be in an episode of Community. Two episodes of Community ago was Inspector Spacetime themed were the crew went to a convention. I feel like the show missed out on a great opportunity to have Gillian on the show. She may have been working on something else or scheduling  may not have worked out, but I got to admit, I was a bit disappointed. Through the whole episode I was crossing my fingers that she would show up. She did not, but Battlestar Galactica alum, Tricia Helfer, did. It was a pleasant surprise to see her in a show that is big among the same demographic as BSG even if it was just a cameo. Here's to hoping Community will some day be graced by Karen Gillian's presence.

I'm the worst. I don't write anything new and then, one day, I write something hoping people will read it and take me in like a little homeless lady.

Anyways, I got into grad school for library science and my semester has gotten much less stressful. I hope to be able to write her more and keep people up on things that are awesome. Also, otters are awesome.

Knights of Badassdom

So there is this movie about LARPing staring Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, and Ryan Kwanten. I expect the reaction, if you did not know this existed, to be something like "OH MY GLOB! WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS YEt?" The sad response I would have to give you is because it is not out yet and seems to be held up in release.

The trailer for "Knights of Badassdom" premiered at Comic-Con in 2011 with a set release in 2012, which never happened. The trailer for this awesome piece of film greatness can be seen here:

Every once in a while I check the status of this movie. Today, when I checked it, I found this article:http://beta.videoeta.com/news/3529/movie-held-hostage-knights-of-badassdom/ . The author, John Couture, did some digging to find out when this movie would be released. The tl;dr version is that it supposedly has a release in the first half of 2013. We'll see how this holds up, but sadly, I'm not holding my breath. Some day I will see this movie, some day.

Finals
